  2. Two big 4-H kickoff events planned

    The new 4-H year is off and running, and Jackson County Extension will be hosting two important kickoff events in the month of March.

  3. Office closed February 7 due to power outage

    The Jackson County Extension Office is without power and will be closing for the rest of the day, Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  This also leaves us without phones so if you need to contact us, please do so through email and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We will reopen 9:30 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018.

  4. Steer Weigh-in Set For January 20

    Steer Weigh-in will be held 9-11 a.m. (Note the time change) Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Jackson County Fairground. Each member can weigh in a maximum of three steers, although an exhibitor may only show two steers at the fair. All steers MUST be checked in during this initial weigh-in, in order to show and sell at the Jackson County Junior Fair.

  5. Jackson County 4-H holding food/toiletry drive

    Jackson County 4-H is holding a nonperishable food and toiletry drive; all donations will be taken to local food pantries and homeless shelters.

  6. Livestock Sale Check Pickup List Is Now Live

    The initial Livestock Sale Check Pickup List is now live on our website! If your name is on the list, your check will be ready for pickup from either 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 at the Jackson County Extension Office.

    Be sure to bring your thank you cards for your buyers, if you have not already turned them into the extension office. All thank you cards should be addressed, stamped and ready to mail.

  7. Buyer Thank You Lists Available For Pickup

    Club Leaders -- a list of buyers for each of your club's members has been placed in your mailbox here at the Extension Office.

    The first check pickup day is set for August 23. Pickup times will be from 11 am-1 pm and from 5-7 pm. By next Monday, we will have posted to our website, jackson.osu.edu, a list of checks ready to be picked up.

    Reminder: Thank you cards for these buyers need to either be handed in to the Extension Office or brought to check pick-up.

  8. 2017 Beef and Forage Field Night

    The 2017 Beef and Forage Field night will be held Thursday August 24, 2017 from 5 to 8:30 pm at the Jackson Agricultural Research Station in Jackson Ohio. The event will feature presentations from OSU Extension and Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center researchers and educators, including Justin Kieffer, Scott Payne, Jess Bowen, Jimmy Henning and Jeff Moore.
